This
week's song:
The people at MHS love to whistle, sing and sometimes dance while we work.
I was driving my car the other day and
this song came on the radio. This song came out in 1965 and I haven't
heard it for many, many years. At the end of the song, I realized a couple
of things:
1. I still remembered all of the words. How come I remembered all of the
words but I don't remember what I had for supper three nights ago. Perhaps
that's the true definition of a "classic" song.
2. This song is about domestic abuse and it probably would be banned if it was
recorded this year. But then again, most fairy tails I grew up hearing
involved murder and abuse!
Well
I'd rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man
You better keep your head, little girl
Or I won't know where I am
You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the end ah little girl
Well you know that I'm a wicked guy
And I was born with a jealous mind
And I can't spend my whole life
Trying just to make you toe the line
You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the end ah little girl
Let this be a sermon
I mean everything I've said
Baby, I'm determined
And I'd rather see you dead
You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the endah little girl
I'd rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man
You better keep your head, little girl
Or you won't know where I am
You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the end ah little girl
